backlog of work...

Been busy with our German shepherd puppy, Miss Lucy, so haven't spent much time posting since she came home in March!
Once I find where I saved some of those pictures from March through June I'll be back ;)

Tapestry Bag

I've had this pattern booklet for seasonal bags for years and finally made one! It was easy and I love the bright colors.
Herrschner's catalogue sells the pattern.

Stashbuster Tote

I whipped up this tote - without pushing it - in a day and a half. The pattern was so easy to follow!
This is the site where I found it...and many more wonderful patterns!

More Baby Ghans

With these blankets I made the border for the striped one and bordered the squares and assembled the other one. My sweet friend Jean C. did most of the work on both, by making the bodies of the blankets and then asked if I would finish them for her. That's a no-brainer for me. I find things like that to be very relaxing and I love playing without a pattern. The striped blanket is approximatley 24 inches square and the blue and white one is 21 by 24 inches.
They'll both be going to the Cornell NICU.

Baby Ghan

This was made at the request of my friend Mary. She and her husband are going to be grandparents for the first time. A little girl...so lilac just had to be part of what is a very neutral baby blanket ;>)
The pattern is called a Baby 9 Patch, and I made the squares 4 inches instead of the 2 1/4 which is what the original pattern on
http://happyyellowhouse.com/htm/baby9patch.html
calls for. The blanket is 35 inches square.

Lapghan

This is going to a nursing home...I decided to make a "traditional" granny square blanket by using black to frame each square.

Baby Ghan

This went to the NICU...

Odds and Ends...

Here are some things I've made lately:
A heart bookmark (made with #10 thread),a Round Ripple (made with Vanna Baby yarn),a bright baby ghan for the NICU, a lapghan for the nursing home, a tiny doily (using #3 thread)...and of course, my Sparkie. Just had to put his picture in here :>)

Baby Ghan

It's roughly 36 inches long and slightly smaller in width.

Book Bag

I made the cotton version....then decided to try a felted bag. I was very pleased with the results...and my Nook likes the felted bag, too :)
Out of sequence, but I've included the "before felted" look at the top of this post. I basicly followed the directions but used an N hook and it felted down to the correct size.

Sparkie in the Blizzard of 12/26/10

Sparkie...in fact, all our GSDs...love playing in the snow. They then come in and pass out, their bodies twitching as they chase things (critters...the ball?) in their sleep.
Here he's searching for his orange ball :>)

Newest Projects

The baby nine patch is about 20 inches square while the lapghan is 36 inches across. Both are being donated.
